You Never Forget Your First…

Your first post that is…

Well here we go! I guess everyone who has a blog must write their first post. Crazy, I never would have thought this would be something I wanted to do…tell strangers about our escapades, and why would anyone even care? Why would they read our story? Maybe they won’t, but if nothing else I plan to have fun writing it.

First I need to point out that Landon and I DO NOT know how to sail, but come hell or high water (or maybe both), we plan on hitting the high seas in 2025. We are currently raising our kids while saving money (those two things really don’t go together) in order to make the jump from land to sea with the intention of retiring at the same time. Oh, and we need to learn to sail too.  Most of our friends think we’re crazy and the kids just keep asking us the same questions over and over. They really don’t seem to be getting it! I think they’re worried about where they will go to get their laundry done.

What???

My husband and I were married in 2015 following a 5 year dating period and we each came to the relationship with two kids (there’s enough craziness there for it’s own blog). Currently their ages are 11, 12, 14, and 15. Three girls and one boy, the oldest. I mention the kids because I plan on writing about them, or life with them, on occasion. There seems to be a lot of material when you’re raising teens and preteens, and hopefully jotting a few stories down will help me stay sane. Anyway, we live in a coastal town in California and we all love the beach and the ocean, my husband in particular. In fact, while we were dating he would often comment on how much he wanted to learn to sail, but never thought he could buy a boat. Well, isn’t that a great reason to surprise someone with a boat? Because they want to learn to sail? Hmmm probably not. At the time it seemed like the best idea ever! I was going to be the best girlfriend on the planet and it turns out you can get a small (or what I thought was small) sailboat for a relatively small amount of money, and again, why not he wanted to learn to sail right? Really how hard could it be?

Let's stay connected!
